COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN 24 HOUR TIME RR PLOT AND RR-LORENZ PLOT IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF PAROXYSMAL BIGEMINAL PREMATURE VENTRICULAR CONTRACTION
Background: Time-domain, frequency-domain and nonlinear analysis are the most important ways to analyze the HRV. Currently, the nonlinear analysis method such as scatter plot is becoming more and more popular to reflect HRV. Objective To compare the advantages and disadvantages of 24-hour time RR plot and RR-Lorenz plot in the diagnosis of paroxysmal bigeminal premature ventricular contraction(PVC) by analyzing the characteristics of 24-hour ambulatory electrocardio- gram(24-hour AECG).Methods Analyze and compare the characteristics of the 24-hour AECG of 10 patients with bigeminal PVC with the same software made by Beneware in Hangzhou of China, which can provide two scatter plot functions, that is 24-hour time RR plot and RR-Lorenz plot.

- The 24-hour time RR plot was calculated by time as X-axis and RR interval as Y-axis,while the RR-Lorenz plot was calculated by two adjacent RR intervals as X-axis and Y-axis separately,so the former can reflect the relationship between time and rhythm.
- The 24-hour time RR plot showed a stripe with blur border, varied in width, fluctuated with an obvious day and night variation when the rhythm was sinus; The 24-hour time RR plot showed a three-layer stripe when the rhythm was bigeminal PVC: the upper layer indicated the PVC, the middle layer indicated the sinus rhythm and the lower layer indicated the compensatory pauses caused by PVC.The RR-Lorenz plot showed as particular triplet graphic distribution,the slope of B line was 0 degree. Conclusion Both 24-hour time RR plot and RR-Lorenz plot have advantages in the diagnosis of paroxysmal bigeminal PVC according to their characteristic changes,the former was better in reflecting the relationship between time and rhythm.
