TELEMETRIC INTERNET - CONTROL OF ELECTROCARDIO - GRAMM EXPERIENCE OF PRACTICAL USER
Background: As a rule telemetric systems use direct transmission of the electrocardiogram (ECG) from the patient to the physician . The method of telemetric internet control (TIC) of ECG with «home cardiometer» device allows to send it to the server. After computer (PC) analysis the ECG is located in a personal homepage. This way gives to patient a possibility to get the ECG immediately after the recording and makes it available for consultation with medical stuff . We summarizes our experience of the using of TIC ECG in preventive and clinical cardiology.
Methods: We have analyzed 1000 ECGs, 137 of them were recorded and transmitted to the server by patients. Another 863 ECGs were transferred to a server by technicians. All ECGs were analyzed on the server automatically in mode “traffic light”. These mode gives to the patient preliminary information about the heart rhythm and PQRST complex in terms of “normal”, “deviation from normal” and “pathological”.
Results: The experience has shown that the patients can register and send the ECG to the server by itself. Automatic PC ECG classification in the “traffic light” do not miss myocardial infarction. Hyperdiagnosing of abnormal ECG were occurred in 12% of cases. The use of the self-control ECG allowed to identify both rare extrasystolic arrhythmia episodes and short atrial fibrillation paroxysms.
Conclusion: The method of TIC ECG control helps to clarify the nature of the rare arrhythmic episodes and syncope, identify asymptomatic arrhythmias and detect different deviation in the form of PQRST complex.
