THE RR-LORENZ PLOT OF ATRIAL FIBRILLATION WITH AV JUNCTIONAL ESCAPE RHYTHM IN 24-HOUR AECG

Objective: To explore the characteristics of the RR-Lorenz plot of atrial fibrillation accompany with AV junctional escape beats or rhythm  in  ambulatory electrocardiogram (AECG) qualitatively.

 

Method: Analyze the 24-hour AECG of 98 patients with persistent atrial fibrillation retrospectively. Divide all the cases into two groups according to the distribution of the RR-Lorenz point ,Group A: RR-Lorenz plot was single fan-shape; Group B: RR-Lorenz plot was fan-shape with three dense zones,that is the dense zone in the upper left parallel to the X axis, the dense zone in the lower right parallel to the Y axis and the Short rod-like dense zone in the 45°line. Analyze and compare the characteristics of the RR-Lorenz plots between the two groups.

 

Results: The RR-Lorenz plot in both the two groups showed fan-shaped. The RR-Lorenz plot in Group B was significantly different from Group A because of the characterized change in the dense zones, which is helpful for the diagnosis of persistent atrial fibrillation with AV junctional escape beats or rhythm.

 

Conclusion: The RR-Lorenz plot was a visual,rapid and qualitative methods in diagnosis of the persistent atrial fibrillation accompany with AV junctional escape beats or rhythm according to the characterized change in Group B.
